Ashtabula II Wind Farm (Luverne Wind Farm)

This newly constructed wind farm is located in southern Steele and Griggs counties. It contains 113 wind turbines and can produce a maximum of 169.5 MW of energy. The Luverne Wind Farm is split into two portions: the 49.5 MW North Field, and the 120 MW South Field. Construction commenced on both wind farms in the summer of 2009. It was the first locally-owned wind farm and shows what a community can accomplish when the drive for success is strong.

 Golden Lake

Golden Lake is located in northern Steele County, just 45 minutes from Grand Forks.  It is home to a seasonal resort and campground offering a public beach, playground, boat launch, convenience store, restaurant, and entertainment. North Golden Lake is stocked with pike, walleye, and perch. The main part of the lake is more of a recreational lake that people enjoy boating and other water sport vehicles.

The campground offers RV spaces with electricity and sewer, along with space for tents. There are access points on both the east and west sides of the lake, and it is a very popular destination for vacationers throughout a 100-mile radius.

We invite you to come camp at Golden Lake Acres!  Come check out the new RV campground! The restaurant has also been renovated with great updates and a very relaxing place to enjoy a great meal. A bar has been added to the restaurant if you would like to have a nice cold adult beverage (must be 21) and gaming is now available.  Come to Golden Lake and enjoy a relaxing place to be!
