Program Information
Recently, Steele County Emergency Management and Steele County Veteran's Service Office secured funding from the Finley Improvement Association to set up a Wall of Honor tv display inside the Courthouse.
From the Wall of Honor Website:
The Wall of Honor story begins with a Vietnam veteran returning home from war. As he landed in America his commanding officer instructed him to change into civilian clothes because he would likely be spit on and harassed by the American public. That stuck with him for many years and as an older man he decided to find a way to give his fellow veterans the recognition and thanks that many of them had never received. From that, the Wall of Honor has slowly taken shape and grown into the community-focused nonprofit it is today. In just three years the Wall of Honor has touched the lives of more than 3,000 honorees and has grown to 140+ display locations in every corner of North Dakota.
The Ask:
We need help with inputting our Steele County Veterans to this database so that they can be displayed on the tv in the Courthouse. More information can be found on the Wall of Honor website. Anyone can input the data. You can do it online via the website linked below, just click on "Submit an Honoree" or there is a printable form as well that is available below or can be found in the Courthouse for those that would rather mail the information in. This information will be input into the Wall of Honor database and be broadcast to all the locations across SE ND. Donations to the Wall of Honor program are NOT required for information submission.
